Jewellery films for the V&A
Date: 23 May 2008
Last summer Illuminations shot three short films for the V&A's new Jewellery Gallery, which opened to the public on May 23. The films, which are silent with captions, are part of a V&A series called "How was it made?" and they are running on continuous loops alongside an object in the collection.
The films show case three remarkable craftspeople: Jane Short (who makes an exquisite enamel brooch), Shaun Leane (a diamond ring) and Martin Matthews (crafting a watchcase just as his father, grandfather and great-grandfather did back across a century).
