Illuminations publishes a range of films about the arts on DVD and video. Our publishing list includes theEYE, an acclaimed series of interview-based profiles of prominent contemporary artists in Britain, including Antony Gormley, Tracey Emin and Anish Kapoor.
The Art of Francis Bacon and The Art of Henry Moore, part of the Art of.. series, provide 50-minute profiles of major figures and their works, accompanied only by the artists words specially recorded by an actor.
Documentaries are also produced alongside major exhibitions and collections, such as AZTECS, Turner and Venice and Constable at Tate and Islamic Art at the V&A.
Some programmes originally made originally for television are now released for purchase on DVD, including the RSC's Macbeth, Chris Petit and Iain Sinclair's London Orbital and the landmark 1980s 6-part series, State of the Art.
Illuminations is also distributing an exciting range of new and re-launched documentaries from the European television channel ARTE and German producer Arthaus.
Co-produced by Illuminations and ARTE for the UK and Eire, Architectures is a 5- DVD series of 26-minute films that offer a unique and instructive insight into the greatest architectural achievements of our times.
Art Lives, from Arthaus, is a powerful and arresting series of documentaries on artists and art movements, released for the first time on DVD in the English language.
